Building the Capacity of Early Education and Care Umbrella Organizations
The Foundation sees the work of umbrella organizations as critical in helping to build capacity within the early childhood education and care community. Through their work, umbrella organizations provide a focus for organizations and individuals to come together to address common issue and concerns, to generate shared learnings, and to develop and implement collective agendas for change.
The Canadian Child Care Federation
The Foundation provides core funding support to the Canadian Child Care Federation. The Canadian Child Care Federation is a pan-Canadian organization that works to support excellence in early learning and child care. The Federation has 11,000 members drawn from the early learning and child care community across Canada and has links with 20 provincial and territorial affiliate organizations.
The Canadian Child Care Federation – Regional Caucuses
The Foundation has awarded a development grant to the Canadian Child Care Federation to support the design of two regional caucus structures in the Foundation’s funding area: one in Alberta and one in Saskatchewan. These caucuses have the potential to serve as regional networks within the larger Federation structure.
