Charities applying for funding from The Muttart Foundation must have adopted the Canadian Centre for Philanthropy’s Code of Ethical Fundraising and Financial Accountability.

Imagine Canada (formerly the Canadian Centre for Philanthropy) has developed the Code of Ethical Fundraising and Financial Accountability to serve as a guide to fundraising practices and donor relations. The Muttart Foundation believes that the Code represents a series of best practices that serves the charitable sector and those who donate to charities.

A copy of the Code, and information about how to adopt it, is included in our information package. The information is also available on Imagine Canada's Web site, located at http://www.imaginecanada.ca.

All applications to The Muttart Foundation must include proof that the organization has adopted the Code at a meeting of its Board of Directors. We require a copy of the Board Meeting minute where the Code is adopted, including the full motion. The application cannot be considered without this information.

Please note that while many organizations may have adopted their own comparable Code of Ethics, we do require the adoption of this specific Code.
