CORI
The Foundation’s support of the Canadian Outcomes Research Institute (CORI) is an example of its work with charities that serve other charities.
CORI works with charities in Canada and elsewhere to help them measure the outcomes of their programs and services. From development of a logic model and the identification of appropriate outcomes, CORI works with charities to develop a program that allows for continuous improvement in their programming.
The Foundation’s interest in this type of work reflects its view that proving the effectiveness of programs and services will help charities become more effective in influencing policy that affects the sector and those the sector serves.
The Foundation has invested more than $3 million in CORI’s operations. It current provides core funding as well as a revolving line of credit. The Muttart Foundation’s Board of Directors has recently authorized a loan to assist CORI in redeveloping its software to make it more robust and of even greater value to its users.
