The regional consultation discussed the growing body of research that looks at the formal educational preparation and professional learning of the early childhood education and care workforce, considered the implications of this research for certified early childhood educators and certificated teachers in Alberta and explored possible options to increase the capacity of those staff who work with young children to respond to the growing educational and social demands placed upon them. The consultation participants recorded their individual responses to the discussion questions on worksheets and these were collected and transcribed to provide a record of the discussions.
