The Government of Alberta has launched the Alberta Non-profit Listing Dashboard. The dashboard modernizes the way Alberta makes data about non-profits available by allowing users to search, filter, and map information from the official records of the Alberta Corporate Registry. It makes it easier for users to work with data that until recently was made public in the form of a downloadable spreadsheet. This is a first for Canadian provinces.
Conversations are underway between the non-profit sector and the government departments about how the current information can be supplemented with additional data points that speak to organization size and subsector classification.
